Youth Ministries

Cedar Grove is committed to providing a Christ-centered spiritual foundation for our Youth throughout their middle school and high school years. Our Youth Ministries exist to walk alongside each young person as they develop a biblical worldview and grow in and deepen their Christian faith.

With so many competing demands pulling young people in many directions, we believe it is important for the church to provide a spiritually healthy and fun place in which to develop friendships with other Christian Youth. We believe that service to others is also an important ingredient in the life of young people who are learning to follow Jesus Christ. Service projects and activities are a key part of the Youth Ministries at Cedar Grove.

The Youth at Cedar Grove are part of the Mennonite Youth Fellowship (MYF) of the Mennonite Church, and are separated according to grade level. Both our MYF (grades 9-12) and our Jr. MYF (grades 6-8) are led by adult volunteers who are committed to our vision and goals for the Youth Ministry.

We believe that the Bible is relevant and applicable for today’s youth. On Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, youth meet as a class for Bible study, discussion, prayer and sharing together. Our goal is to guide the development of each young person’s faith in Christ, as they begin applying what they’ve learned to their life experiences and challenges.

Real Life / Real Challenges / Real Relationships / Real Ministry

Throughout the year, our youth also enjoy a variety of outings and activities together, such as hiking, going on retreats together, doing service projects, the annual Youth auction, fund-raising dinners, and attending Christian concerts.
